A private Pinterest board is also known as a secret Pinterest board. This simply means that on one besides you can see it, unless you have explicitly invited someone to it. Your followers cannot see it either.
You can have a secret/private Pinterest board that only you have access too, or invite others to collaborate on it.
Having a private Pinterest board is a great feature, because there are so many reasons to keep a board secret.
First and foremost, if you are working on a new board, you may want to keep it secret until you have a good collection of pins.
Next, you may want to use Pinterest as a collaboration tool with other people for projects you are working on together, and not share it to the world right now.
Finally, you may just want to keep a board private if you are afraid a board full of fluffy kitten pictures does not align with your brand!
There are many reasons for this. Remember, you can flip a board back and forth between secret and public very easily.
The first thing to do is to log into Pinterest, and navigate to toe boards section of your profile. From here you can create new boards or edit existing ones.
Creating a secret or private Pinterest board could not be easier. From your boards view, click the red circle with the white plus sign.
Just make sure you check the keep this board secret box when you create board:

To make a Pinterest board private, first click edit on your board from your board view. That’s the pencil on your board like this:
Next, a window will pop up with the properties of your Pinterest board. Find the property called Visibility:
Check the box if you want to make the Pinterest board private.
Uncheck the box if you want to make the Pinterest board public.
